I am so excited to be able to offer this yarn and pattern kit for the Silta Shawl by Tif Neilan. Originally published in 52 Weeks of Socks I have knit two of these and am just trying to make time to cast on another.
This shawl is knit in double-knitting weight yarn and the Banshee Yarns Tibetan Silk DK creates the most beautiful, drapey version. This yarn pack includes 4 100g skeins of Banshee Yarns Tibetan Silk DK and a printed copy of the pattern. It includes 2 skeins of undyed Tibetan DK and 2 skeins in a colour of your choice.
Knitting level: Confident beginner.
Needles are not included. 6mm long circular needles (at least 100cm) are required.
The Stilla shawl is triangular shawl knit in double-knitting weight yarn, 391 metres in the main colour and 350m in the contrast colour. It requires size 6mm needles (not included).
About Tibetan Silk DK
Tibetan DK is a luxurious yarn comprised of 60% Superwash Merino Wool, 20% Silk and 20% Yak. It is a beautiful soft to the touch yarn that has a beautiful shine and has a number of plies which makes it suitable for use in jumpers as well as other items. It is a brown/grey shade due to the yak. It has 212m per 100g skein. It is one of our favourite yarns to dye here at Banshee Yarns but it is very also magnificent in it’s undyed colour.
Individual dyed skeins are available here and individual skeins of the undyed yarn are available here. The shawl would look gorgeous in 4 skeins of Tibetan DK undyed.
