Book of the month, Feb: Yarn People, Issue 5

Published by Michelle on 31st Jan 2021

So this month I wanted to share a magazine (bookazine?!) that I feel hasn't had enough love at all!  Our book of the month, for February 2021, is Issue 5, Stripes from Yarn People!

This issue, the last of the Yarn People series, was the only one of the 5 issues to be printed so this is a lovely chance to get your hands on this magazine which is no longer in print.

The magazine contains 11 patterns, a mix of knitting and crochet, 4 features and a steeking tutorial.  There are a great mix of yarn weights in the patterns this month so I would encourage you to buy it first and then have a good stash rather than buying yarns to match it! : )

I only have 7 copies of this magazine left so to help them get to new homes as soon as possible, there is 13% off the cover price and that includes shipping in the UK!

Here are some of my favourite patterns from this lovely mag!

The Fall in Line crochet scarf that can also be crocheted as a cowl!  I am not much of a hooker but I am very tempted by this!  Crocheted in Aran weight yarn on a 5mm hook, I don't think this would take very long either.

Another aran pattern, this time knit on 5mm needles, I just love the Undergrowth scarf.  This is a perfect pattern for a beginning knitter who wants to do something just a step up from garter stitch.

It's shown here in Malabrigo Rios & requires 2 skeins.  15cm * 178 finished size.

Oh and did I mention that it also has the An Caitin Beag Slow Exposure shawl included in the print edition (2 skeins of Banshee Yarns Silky Singles & a single skein of Mohair Lace)?!  And considering that pattern along is £4, this magazine is a bit of a steal!  Snap up a copy now!

Now lovelies, I must head away or my castonitis will go wild!

If you have any questions about the book, just get in touch – michelle [at] theloveliestyarncompany.co.uk.

Happy knitting!
