The Camp Wilkerson pattern has been in Michelle's Ravelry library for quite a while, waiting for just the right yarn and we think that Banshee Yarns Alpaca DK has to be the one!
The Camp Wilkerson kit includes four skeins of Banshee Yarns Alpaca DK, a printed copy of the Camp Wilkerson pattern and a 4mm 100cm circular needle so that you can cast-on straight away.
The kit includes one skein in each of four colours (4 skeins, 400g in total): Airgead (charcoal), Touchy Teal (Teal), Fortune (gold) & Nude (ecru).
Please check your gauge as the pattern has been designed to use all of the yarn in each skein. Check your remaining yarn as you go and adjust the pattern to ensure you have sufficient yarn.
Note: The finished project shown is not knit in the yarn provided in the kit. Finished shawl pictures copyright Caitlin Hunter.
About the yarn
Banshee Yarns Alpaca DK is a 70% Baby Alpaca 20% Silk 10% Cashmere 100g blen which is super soft and cosy. Each 100g skein has 225 metres of yarn.
When wet blocking/washing projects that include heavily saturated colours, do not leave the project unattended to ensure the project can be removed from the water in the event of colour bleeding.
About the pattern
The Camp Wilkerson shawl was inspired by a gorgeous printing of John Muir’s Wilderness Essays. Caitlin was inspired by the colors, lines and of course the words of John Muir to create this huge and cozy wrap. This asymmetrical, arrow-shaped wrap is worked from end to end, starting at the arrow point.
Finished size: 70” (178cm) long and 19” (48cm) wide (after blocking)
About the needle
A 4.00mm 100cm circular bamboo needle is included in this kit.
