Description

At long last, I'm delighted to share that the Simply the Simplest Sweater DK pattern is now available in print!  I splashed out a bit on the printing and this is beautiful, glossy A4 pattern that I hope you will love.

Here you have the option to buy just the pattern or the pattern and a kit based on the size you want to make.  The yarn kits are made up of 100g skeins of Banshee Yarns Tibetan DK in Nude (the yarn used in the sweater).  The pattern uses quite a lot of yarn, as it's a batwing sweater, so when you opt to buy a kit, the pattern will be included for free.

You will also get a digital copy of the pattern included and it will be available to download once you place your order.

About the pattern

This sweater has been designed as a teaching garment and includes a number of techniques. If you are a Knit School member, this pattern is included in your Pattern Library.

The sweater is designed to be worn according to your bust size, or, if you have a larger bust and would prefer a closer fit in the body, your upper bust. As it is a batwing style sweater, there will be a lot of ease throughout the body. If you are between sizes, choose the smaller size if you want it to be more fitted (although it will still have plenty ease).

The wingspan in sizes 1 to 5 is based on above the elbow to above the elbow measurements. The wingspan in sizes 6 to 9 is based on mid lower arm to mid lower arm. This is to preserve the batwing shape of the sleeves.

Pattern Notes

This pattern is knit in two pieces which are then seamed together using mattress stitch.

Yarn Substitution
Other DK yarns can be used but I recommend swatching to ensure that the linen stitch doesn’t make a soft yarn too rough.

About the Yarn

Tibetan DK is a luxurious yarn comprised of 60% Superwash Merino Wool, 20% Silk and 20% Yak.  It is a beautiful soft to the touch yarn that has a beautiful shine and has a number of plies which makes it suitable for use in jumpers as well as other items.  It is a brown/grey shade due to the yak.  It has 212m per 100g skein.  It is one of our favourite yarns to dye here at Banshee Yarns but it is very also magnificent in it’s undyed colour.
